I can't believe it is already our 20 year class reunion. It doesn't seem like all that long ago when we celebrated our 10 year reunion. Life hasn't changed that much for me since our 10 year reunion. Still all work and play. Unfortunately, or is it fortunately...not sure, I'm still single with no children or pets. So that will shorten this bio by about two paragraphs. Yeah!

Nearly four years ago the homesickness caught up with me and I moved back to Minnesota to live in Eden Prairie. I'm still with the same company that I joined shortly after I graduated college from UMD. I've experienced seven relocations in the last 14 years with most of the moves being between Pennsylvania and Michigan, except the last to Minnesota. I'm so glad to be back in the great state of Minnesota. Living for many years on the East Coast gives you a tremendous appreciation of Minnesota Nice. I don't see myself ever leaving the Upper Midwest. Well, unless I win the lottery and buy an island in the south Pacific. I was also having lake life withdrawals and decided enough was enough and moved to the Cities to focus more on life and less on work. Now I have a great balance of both and truly enjoy what I do.

Having grown up on a lake most of my life, and being away from the 10,000 lakes for far too long, I decided to get back in the game and bought a lake cabin in Hayward, WI last summer. I'm not a cheesehead though! I'm just enjoying all their cheese, brats, beer, fish fry's, etc. I'm spending many of my weekends up at the cabin enjoying the great outdoors. It is a form of therapy for me, whether it is boating, biking, golfing, running, or just simply lounging the day away.

Well, that's about it for me. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the 10 year reunion.

Sorry that I am unable to attend the 20 year festivities. I hope that everyone is doing well and staying healthy.

Since the ten year life has undergone some drastic and interesting changes. When you last heard from me I was still working as a chemist @ a pharmaceutical company in Baudette Minnesota.

Well, in 1998 I decided to resign and become a stay @ home mom. I enjoyed this change in my life because I was so busy working and wanted the opportunity to spend time with my kids before they started school.\

When my boys finally started school, I went back to work part-time as a sub-teacher for the local school. So, from about 2000-2005 this was my gig. I also spent one year as a full-time chemistry/physical science teacher, hardest job of my career to date. I was only full time for one school year before getting laid off, which in turn opened yet another door.

In 2003-04 I went back to school to finish an Exercise Science degree. I had wanted to do this since I was a freshman in college. I drove four hours a day the first semester and then went full-time the second semester. I lived in the old people dorm during the week and went home to my family on weekends. Both my husband and kids were extremely understanding throughout this whole process. Once I completed this course work I opened my own personal training business in Baudette.

By 2005, life changed drastically for my family. My husband was offered a position in Forest Virginia. It was an opportunity that he couldn’t pass up. So in July 2005, we packed up and headed east.

My family absolutely loves it here in VA. We live only minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and have great views of the mountains. *I always wanted to live near the mountains. The weather is fabulous. We live just north enough to experience four seasons without the below zero temps, plus there a very few mosquitoes. YEAH!

I have two boys, Ty who is 13 almost 14 and going into 8th grade @ Forest Middle School. He loves computers & music. He is a drummer and currently has a band, DeepEminatingMist. Ty is the shy one. Lincoln is going to be 12 next week. He will be a 6th grader @ FMS. Lincoln is the outgoing one. He is starting Football this year and loves to hunt, fish, work on cars and talk.

Darel, my husband, is a supervisor for Barr Labs Inc. His hobby is restoring cars. He has a 65 Fairlane Sports Coupe, and is currently working on making his 39 Ford into a hot rod. He also loves to hunt and fish.

I am currently an Exercise Physiologist for Centra Health Inc. for the Stroobant’s Heart Center in Lynchburg General Hospital. I work in Cardio/pulmonary Rehab and also provide wellness programs for disease management. I work with patients that have had some sort of cardiac event, COPD and other limiting conditions. I currently work @ a satellite site, (Altavista YMCA) doing phase III/ IV rehab, & wellness programs. I also teach fitness classes for the Bedford YMCA. I absolutely love what I do. I also love to garden, mountain biking, walking with my dogs, and reading.

Our family loves to go hiking in the mountains, drive around in the hot rod and spend time outside since there aren’t any bugs. We have truly been blessed over the years and I am thankful everyday for the opportunities we have been given.

I sincerely hope all of you are doing well and are staying healthy. Life is your most precious gift so take care of yourselves.

Love, Lynn
