Spouse: David
Daughter: Maya Alice (3)

A 20 year brief history…
After graduating from Bemidji State University I started work at a local bank and shortly after met my husband David. We had a whirlwind courtship and married six months after we met. We moved to Fargo so he could finish college and I moved onto another area of banking while living there. For the next 15 years we have lived in International Falls, MN, Nekoosa, WI and just moved to the beautiful UP of Michigan one year ago. My husband works in the paper industry thus the moving around. We do miss Minnesota and hope to one day move back, but for now we are absolutely thrilled to live in such a beautiful area.

Family life…
Five years ago my husband and I decided to start the adoption process while we were living in WI. Things moved very slowly and after three years we were still waiting to become parents. After talking to friends about their international adoption, we decided to do it and a short 5 months later we had a beautiful 15 month old girl we named Maya. She is from Liberia in Western Africa and has changed our lives in so many ways. The adoption process was amazing and has opened us up to so many other points of view not to mention some of the amazing people we have met throughout it all.

High School Memories…
There are so many to think about, but one of the most memorable to me was when I broke my foot in 8th grade phys-ed class. Getting up and down 3 flights of stairs would have been a bummer if not for my loyal group of helpers (Doyle, Rama, Big Al), always getting to leave class 5-10 minutes early to beat the rush. We were all sort of hoping the cast could stay on longer.

Of course the other famous incident involved me letting the boys go through the girl’s locker room before phys-ed class resulting in suspension for all involved. It turned out to be a beautiful day off of school. You are welcome guys!

All of these things feel like another lifetime ago. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already.

I’m looking so forward to seeing everyone again and catching up, not to mention a little partying for old times sake. If you ever find yourself in the UP please look us up, we’d love to see you!
