Work and family: John and I were married in August 1978, so we in turn will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. After we were married we moved to the Fargo area. We have lived at our current address for the past 18 years. I attended 1 year of college at MSU and graduated from NDSU with a degree in business administration. After college I worked for a few years at Shotwell Floral, before finding my way to federal service. I have been employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs for 21 years. I have held various positions in the medical center and am currently a manager at the Regional Office. The Regional Office administers compensation and pension benefits to veterans and their dependents. Everyday brings with it new adventures and challenges. John is self-employed and works in sales and installation of fire alarms and security systems.
Beth and Maggie were involved in numerous sports in high school and college. A lot of time was spent traveling to games and sitting on bleachers. They were fortunate enough to play in a lot of state tournaments including four title games. Maggie was a member of one of West Fargo's state basketball teams. While in college she was an honorable mention All-American in volleyball. I wasn't really sure what I would do with my time after the last game. So many nights found us eating fast food and getting few hours of sleep. I should have never questioned this, as they made up with it in wedding planning and grandchildren. Blake has been involved in t-ball and basketball, so it looks as though the cycle will continue.
Beth and her family live in West Fargo. She is a sales manager for Clinique which is great for me with all of the samples. She decided to return to school and is majoring in photography. She has had a busy last few months, as Lincoln was born 4 weeks early. It was not how we excepted to spend our Memorial Day weekend. Both of them are doing well. Maggie and her family live in Grand Forks. She is a sales manager for one of the banks. They are close enough to come and visit on most weekends. John maintains the great thing about grandchildren is you can spoil them and ship them home. Even the pets are relieved when silence returns to the house!
Hobbies: I enjoy walking. I take our dog every day no matter what the conditions. I sure the neighbors must wonder if I'm sane when the wind-chill is way below zero. I also enjoy gardening, cooking and watching various sporting activities.
